Problem
Food redistribution fails on logistics, not intent — a surplus report has to reach the nearest volunteer fast enough for the food to still be usable.
What we built
A MERN application with GeoJSON-based matching between surplus reports and nearby volunteers, an IBM Watson chatbot intake flow, and a heatmap of requests by population density to guide routing.
Impact
Placed in the top 20 nationally at the IBM WITACE Hackathon.
